A DCUK Christmas: A Q&A with our Owner
It’s one of the busiest times of year for our team, but how do they like to spend Christmas when they get a break? From advice on gifting to his most memorable Christmas story, we’ve quizzed company owner Craig on all things festive to get an insight.
What’s your role at DCUK?
One of the owners.
Which is your favourite DCUK design and why?
The classic natural duckling because of its original style and character.
What makes it a great Christmas gift?
It’s beautiful to look at with the natural wood grain and pose. It’s a classic!
Who would you buy it for?
Is there a design you hope will make the collection for next year?
We are already working on our 2019 Christmas range so I’m looking forward to seeing the designs come to life.
Are you Christmas mad or a bah humbug?
I’ve got two young children and a wife who love Christmas.
What’s your most memorable Christmas moment?
My wife hung an artificial tree from the ceiling upside down for decoration and whilst having dinner it dropped down to the floor right in front of me – just missed!
What does Christmas mean to you?
Family, food, drink and giving presents.
What is your favourite thing about Christmas?
What has been the best gift you have ever received? And the worst?
I’ll always remember receiving a torch when I was about 9 and also a Chorley FM t-shirt. I loved them. The worst was a Rab C. Nesbitt tea-bag vest!
Do you have any quirky family traditions at Christmas?
The blindfolded ‘eat a mars bar with a knife and fork’ game.
What advice would you give for the perfect Christmas day?
Describe your perfect Christmas Day.
Snow followed by being with friends and family and everyone having less presents, instead using the money to give something to those who are not as lucky as us.
